Hello my name is Shamika Adams-Morgan,Owner and Executive Chef of S.K.Morgan Catering Service. Welcome and Thank you for your interest in our Catering Service.
My Commitment to You
When I started S.K. Morgan Catering Service, My primary focus was weddings..however throughout the years we have catered many things from brunch to memorial services so although we primarily target brides and grooms we still open are doors to every function and make it truly a rewarding experience for all. When we cater your event we work overtime to provide the type of service that I myself would have wanted in organizing and catering events especially weddings. I believe a good caterer should become a “best friend” to the host/ bride and groom. That means I am here to help you not only with the various tasks but also to be a good listener and to provide guidance whenever you have questions or concerns. I will answer your calls 24/7, always with a smile. And you can trust that I am working in your best interest at all times. I want to learn your tastes and will make sure your wedding is exactly what you imagine. I won’t push my own preferences. I will advise you, but at the same time, I’ll step back and allow you to express yourself. Every wedding/event is different, and I want to encourage you to be creative and make the event uniquely yours.
About Me
Here is a little about me, I have a Catering and Gourmet Cooking certificate from Penn Foster Culinary School and is currently working on my associates in Culinary Arts and Management from Schoolcraft Culinary school. I have a Bachelors in Human Services and Developmental Psychology and a Master's Degree in Family Life Education from the University of Detroit Mercy. My interest in catering and cooking started at the age of 5 baking cakes and cookies, then on to hamburger ad fried chicken . From the time I could remember I would sit in my great- grandmothers kitchen watching carefully everything she did and eventually participating as she cooked big meals for our exceptionally big family as well as friends and neighbors too. People would stop by simply because they could smell the awesome aroma of my great -grandmother's cooking for literally blocks away. As I grew older I would cook for family and friends and various church functions, and thought to myself I could see myself doing this so I began to experiment with different dishes , watching the satisfied look on everyones face everytime I cooked no matter what it was only made me more anxious to please and perfect my craft. After observing and attending numerious events throughout my life and seeing how people was paying an arm and a leg for catered food and only able to get on scoop of everything and strickly a hour or so of fellowship time, it helped me realize my true calling which is cooking and entertainment, it is something I totally enjoy doing. My southern hospitality kicks in when it comes to feeding and satisfying my clients I believe you should be able to eat until you simply can't take it anymore and that people shouldn't have to pay high prices for a scoop of food simply because the event has the word wedding attached to it.
